My name is Barbara and I was born in Oldham, Lancashire and moved to Canada when I was 22.

I have lived in Brantford, Ontario, Timmins which is a busy Gold-Mining town and now live in beautiful St Thomas, Ontario.

The area of Southern Ontario where I live is really lovely - lots of lush farmland, easy access to the Great Lakes - the golden, sandy beaches at Port Stanley are just 10 minutes away. Niagara Falls is a 2 hour drive and they really are one of the "Wonders of the World".

I am married to a Dutchman, we have five children, all but one are grown up and gone, and I "home-school" our youngest daughter, Rebecca who is 11. We are grand-parents of three delightful little girls and foster-parents of many!

I have the best job in the world! I have a holiday flat on our farm which we rent to holiday-makers from around the world, and another Holiday Home in the nearby town of Aylmer, Ontario. I meet people from all over the world who visit our holiday accommodation.

I think Canada is lovely all year round - we have cold, crisp winters and long, hot summers and the most beautiful Autumns in the world - the trees are spectacular here in the Fall!
